Sulla visita del Vice Ministro degli Affari Esteri di Belarus Oleg Kravchenko in Italia
11.05.2018 г.On May 9-11, 2018 the Belarusian delegation headed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Oleg Kravchenko paid a visit to the Italian Republic.
The delegation took part in the international conference ”The Reverse Flow of Foreign Terrorist Fighters (FTFs): Challenges for the OSCE Area and Beyond“ in Rome. The representative expert forum promoted by the current Italian presidency in the OSCE, was focused on questions of returning of foreign terrorist fighters in countries of origin or their relocating in the OSCE region, strengthening border security and information sharing, rehabilitation and reintegration of former FTFs into civil society, countering radicalization and extremism ideology.
The Belarusian participants of the Conference included representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Committee for State Security and the Embassy of Belarus to Italy. The head of the delegation and the experts delivered speeches at the opening and the plenary session as well as at thematic sections, including the special event ”Countering terrorist ideology in the context of threats posed by FTFs“ organized by the Russian Federation.
On the sidelines of the Conference the Deputy Foreign Minister held discussions and exchanged views with a number of heads of national delegations as well as with Paul Bekkers, director of the Office of the OSCE Secretary General.
During the visit, Oleg Kravchenko also held bilateral meetings on cooperation with Italy including those with Beniamino Quintieri, president of the Italian export credit agency SACE, Franco Frattini, president of the Italian Society for International Organization and former Minister of foreign affairs of Italy, Sen. Gian Marco Centinaio, fraction leader of Lega party in the Italian Senate, Sen. Vito Rosario Petrocelli, member of the Italian Parliament (Movimento 5 Stelle party) and deputy president of the inter-parliamentary group Italy-Belarus of the previous convocation.
At the same time, negotiations-consultations at the level of heads of territorial departments of the MFA of Belarus (Andrei Bushilo) and the Ministry of foreign affairs and international cooperation of Italy (Guido De Sanctis), were held.
During the meetings with Italian colleagues, the parties discussed issues of political dialogue, development of bilateral economic relations and investment cooperation, prospects for expanding inter-parliamentary contacts, including the coordination of joint plans for the future.
