25th Anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Belarus and Malta

 

 

 

Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Malta were established on the 16 th February, 1993.

Since 2011 associated Embassies of the two countries have been operating on the territory of each other. The current Ambassador of Belarus to Italy, to Malta associated is Mr. Aleksandr Guryanov; the Ambassador of Malta to Poland, to Belarus associated is Ms. Natasha Meli Daudey.

A meeting of the President of Belarus and the Prime-Minister of Malta was held in 1993 in St.Petersburg (on the occasion of the 300 th anniversary of the foundation of the Russian Northern capital).

We have built a constructive cooperation between foreign offices of Malta and Belarus; the two Ministers have a regular contact on the fields of international organizations.

The embassies keep on doing their utmost in order to extend Belarus-Malta ties in political, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

The Sides have been working in a proactive way on enhancement of the volume of bilateral trade and investments. Reference: in 2017 Belarus-Malta turnover outperformed 1 mln USD. During this period the Belarusian export to Malta has tripled.
